Two people can save the same homes and still be making different decisions: one may optimize the commute and the other the monthly cost. I designed an independent Zillow concept that carries those priorities from the shortlist into comparison and tour planning.

Map where the buying decision changes hands
I mapped the handoffs between Search, Saved Homes, Homes to Compare, Shared Collection, Buying Plan, and AI Mode with tours. At each handoff, I asked what the pair needed to remember to keep evaluating the same home. The mapping uses public product material, without internal Zillow data.
Partner intent records why a home remains in contention. Estimated monthly cost makes the financial tradeoff comparable. Availability turns agreement into a tour that can be scheduled.
Shortlist continuityThree gaps, three product responses
Priorities and reactions need to stay attached to a home from save through tour.
Shared collectionBoth shoppers can explain why one home leads
02Affordability is a comparison frame
List price alone cannot answer monthly payment, cash to close, or the household tradeoff.
Cost-aware comparisonCost and fit stay beside every home
03Agreement needs an executable next step
A chosen shortlist still needs availability, scheduling, route, and agent confirmation.
Plan + tour daySelected homes become a route without re-entry
Carry the context into the next action
I left search familiar and began after Save. The shared collection records each partner’s intent, comparison exposes cost and preference tradeoffs, the buying plan checks readiness, and tour planning turns the remaining homes into a coordinated visit.

Reach a tour without re-entering the decision
The prototype carries a shortlist from shared search to a scheduled tour without recreating the earlier discussion. It is not a shipped Zillow feature or a measured buyer outcome.
